The Barber Institute of Fine Arts in Birmingham is one of the world's finest small galleries and was named 'Gallery of the Year' by the Good Britain Guide in 2004.
Housed in one of Birmingham's finest Art Deco buildings, purpose built and opened by Queen Mary in 1939, the Barber Institute offers exhibitions, concert programme, lectures and family events take place round the year at the Barber Institute of Fine Arts.
It is home to one of the finest small collections of European art in the UK, including works by Botticelli, Rubens, Van Dyck, Rembrant, Turner, Whistler, Manet, Degas, Monet, Van Gogh, Rodin, Gauguin, Picasso and Matisse.
The Barber Institute is just 3 miles from the centre of Birmingham and is easily accessible by car, bus and train.

The quickest and simplest route to the city centre from birmingham airport is by train: from the Birmingham International Interchange station to Birmingham New Street station. The journey time is 10 - 15 minutes and puts you in the city centre.
Next take a train to University Station. Trains leave Birmingham New Street station regularly and take approximately 10 minutes. The Barber Institute is a five minute walk from the University Station.
