Monarch announce US Airways maintenance deal
01.07.09
Monarch Aircraft Engineering (MAE) has signed a contract with US Airways to maintain the American airline's planes flying into Birmingham Airport this summer. The agreement, which commenced in May but has only just been announced, will see Monarch's staff carrying out daily checks, unscheduled maintenance and ETOPS support for a US Airways Boeing 757 aircraft flying between Birmingham and Philadelphia on a 5 times per week scheduled service.
MAE and US Airways have previously worked together at Glasgow Airport. The new contract will last for 3 years, and MAE Managing Director Richard Mintern said: ‘We are delighted that US Airways chose us as their partner for their flights to Birmingham. With such fierce competition in the market, our commitment to customer care and strong reputation for quality, allied to our previous experience working with them at Glasgow, put us in a strong position. We look forward to building on our existing relationship over the next 3 years.’
