bmibaby passengers offered 'rescue package' by Ryanair
05.12.08
Ryanair has launched a ‘rescue package’ for passengers who have been affected the cancellation of a number of routes by rival budget carrier bmibaby. bmibaby revealed last month that it would suspend routes from Birmingham Airport to a number of destinations including Rome, Lisbon, Madrid and Bordeaux.
Ryanair has offered special rates to affected passengers to some of the destinations affected by the cancellations. Passengers are only required to pay the taxes and charges for the flights - paying nothing for the flights themselves.
Stephen McNamara, Ryanair Marketing Manager, said: ‘Most people make hay while the sun shines but bmibaby closes routes while the sun shines. Passengers who are affected by the closure of bmibaby's routes from Birmingham now have the choice of a rescue offer for flights to Rome, Milan, Biarritz and Prague.'
