Lufthansa launch Hamburg flights

Lufthansa has launched a new direct service between Birmingham Airport and Hamburg. The introduction of the 6 times a week service reinforces Lufthansa’s commitment to provide more destinations in Germany and beyond for Midlands passengers, a spokesman for the airline said.
Peter Vella, business development director at Birmingham Airport, said: 'Lufthansa has operated flights from Birmingham for over 20 years. This new route to Hamburg extends its portfolio, and complements its existing routes to Dusseldorf, Frankfurt and Munich.'
Marianne Sammann, Lufthansa UK General Manager, said: ‘It shows the importance of Birmingham within Lufthansa’s worldwide network. As well as offering our Birmingham passengers quick and easy access to Germany’s second largest city the service also increases the availability of onward connections as Lufthansa continues to develop Hamburg as a hub to Central and Eastern Europe.'
Flights leave Birmingham at 11:30 arriving in Hamburg at 14:10 and depart Hamburg at 10:15 arriving in Birmingham at 11:00. Prices start from £39.00 one way in Economy Class, inclusive of all taxes and charges.
