Flybe's 'Departure Board' gives customers tailor made offers

Flybe has launched new technology which it has called the 'Departure Board.' It is an innovative way for the airline to keep customers updated in real-time about its latest offers and promotions, and gives customers opportunities to benefit from last-minute Flybe deals through the delivery of targeted messages direct to their computers based on their individual requirements.
The Departures Board is a direct to desktop ‘push’ communication channel that does not use e-mail communication but rather sends specific alerts immediately they become available only to those whose travel requirements match Flybe’s latest offer or promotion - tailor made offers that are relevant to the individual customer.
Flybe’s Digital Marketing Manager, Neil Simpkin, said: ‘Departure Board by-passes the usual e-mail messaging system by only appearing when there is information directly relating to a customer’s pre-specified requirements. Based on information provided by the individual, the bespoke real time alerts will allow people to book value for money business or leisure flights with Flybe because they will know about special deals as soon as they become available.’
