1200 stranded abroad after Birmingham holiday company folds
13.08.10
Birmingham based holiday company Sun4U collapsed yesterday, leaving approximately 1200 customers stuck abroad. The majority of the stranded are in Spain. The firm's website said it had ceased trading and advised customers to contact claim handlers for ABTA.
It is unclear how holidaymakers currently abroad will be repatriated. ABTA said those with Air Travel Operators' Licensing (ATOL) packages would be able to continue with their holidays as planned.
The ABTA help line advises passengers who booked a flight package under the company's ATOL licence to call the CAA on 0207 453 6350. The Sun4U website advised customers to phone claim handlers CEGA on 01243 621 500.
Any holidaymakers who made a payment via a Visa debit or a credit card can claim a refunds via their card issuer.
