Emirates has announced that it will build a new premium passenger lounge at Birmingham Airport. The announcement was made when the airline flew one of its giant Airbus A380 superjumbo in to the airport as to mark its 70th anniversary celebrations.
Seventy years after the airport's first passengers departed in an 8-seat de Havilland Dragon Rapide aircraft, the airport hosted the largest passenger jet ever built. The Dubai-based airline's Airbus A380 was a star attraction at Birmingham Airport's 70th celebrations
During the anniversary event, Emirates announced plans to build a 7000 sq .ft. airport lounge. It will be the biggest lounge offered by a long-haul airline at Birmingham Airport.
