bmi to add Aberdeen flights
16.01.09
bmi Regional will return to Birmingham Airport after a 3 year absence when it takes over Aberdeen flights from sister airline bmibaby on March 29 (the start of the summer schedule). At this time the full service airline will increase the number of flights it operates on the route from 1 now to 3 every weekday.
The service will be operated using Embraer jets with 37 or 50 seats, and the new schedule will give business and leisure travellers more flexibility. From March 29, flights will leave Birmingham at 08:50, 16:00 and 19:55, with a Sunday service at 16:30. From Aberdeen the flights will leave at 07:00, 14:20 and 18:15 Monday to Friday and 14:45 on Sunday.
bmi Regional commercial director Peter Kenworthy said: ‘The increased schedule reinforces our commitment to key business routes within the UK and is the fourth domestic destination we serve from Aberdeen. We recognise the need for a more frequent schedule and we expect the route to be popular with both business and leisure travellers.'
