Woman jailed over false passport

A Nigerian woman was jailed for 12 months for using a fake passport to try to fly from the UK to Canada. Patience Ikhayere was arrested at Birmingham Airport in May after staff became suspicious when she tried to check-in for a flight to Toronto.
Ms Ikhayere, 27, was jailed at Warwick Crown Court last week after pleading guilty to two offences of facilitating a breach of immigration law and possession of a false identity document. The judge recommended deportation when she completes her jail sentence.
