Passenger numbers at Birmingham Airport fell by 7.7% in March compared to last year. A total of 674,301 passengers used the airport - 563,105 scheduled passengers and 111,196 charter passengers.
A spokesman said he result underlines ‘the challenging economic environment’ it is facing, adding that the conditions were affecting the whole of the aviation industry and Birmingham was ‘performing better than the majority of other UK airports’. Chief executive officer, Paul Kehoe, said he had ‘always said that this year will be a testing one’.
