Drug smuggler jailed

A woman was jailed for 4 years yesterday after attempting to smuggle £10,000 worth of cocaine into the UK via Birmingham Airport. Shounna Hines, 24, from Nottingham, was stopped at the airport by HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) officers on January 4 after arriving on a flight from Jamaica.
Miss Hines, of Ford Street, Nottingham was sentenced to 4 years in jail after pleading guilty to illegally importing cocaine at Birmingham Crown Court. Sentencing her , Recorder Rachel Brand, said: ‘The sentence handed down by this court will serve as a deterrent to others contemplating this form of criminality.’
