New Shropshire rail link launched

A new direct rail service link from Shropshire to Birmingham Airport has been launched. The route is part of a major revamp of the timetable between the county by Arriva Trains Wales (ATW).
ATW ‘air hostesses’ greeted passengers on the first service with complimentary travel packs and refreshments, offering an airline-style service to mark the new link. An extra 650 seats a day will be available on the hourly services, which will also stop at Birmingham New Street.
The route will also offer the first direct service to Birmingham International Railway Station, offering a new link to the National Exhibition Centre and the National Indoor Arena for events, shows, exhibitions and concerts.
