Cargo plane emergency landing
26.02.10
A cargo plane made an emergency landing at Birmingham Airport after suffering engine failure in the early hours of yesterday morning, the Birmingham Mail reports. The pilot switched off one of the plane's engines and made the landing at around 01:00.
Birmingham Airport initiated a full emergency and five West Midlands Fire Engines were dispatched to the scene as backup to the airport's own fire service. The were sent away after the pilot negotiated the landing safely. An investigation into the incident is underway.
