Flybe plan 40 plan Nordic expansion
27.08.11
Flybe plans to build a fleet of forty planes in the Nordic and Baltic region to serve new routes there within the next 3 - 4 years. This would include 24 new planes and new bases in Finland, Estonia, Sweden, Denmark, Latvia and Lithuania.
The UK regional airline completed the acquisition of Finnish Commuter Airlines in a joint-venture with Finnair last week. The airline will be re-branded Flybe Nordic and will expanded with four new ATR-72 turboprops very shortly.
Flybe Nordic has already announced six new routes from Estonia to locations in Finland and Sweden starting in October and November. This will create 50 new jobs each in Finland and Estonia. The new routes will generate feeder traffic to / from Finnair’s international connections, and will be flown as codeshare flights.
