New airport boss to be offered £200,000 salary
28.01.08
Birmingham Airport has launched its search for a new chief executive - offering a £200,000 salary to the right person. Advertisements for the job were placed in national newspapers yesterday, saying that the successful candidate must be a 'compelling and charismatic leader' with the ability to energise staff and deliver business transformation.
London-based head-hunters Russell Reynolds say the airport's shareholders are looking for a 'strong CEO to lead and drive the airport through an exciting phase of growth and development'. The new boss will be responsible for overseeing the extension of the main runway and doubling passenger numbers over the next 10 years.
The job ad also makes it clear that airport shareholders want an emphasis on marketing and PR in order to achieve passenger growth targets.
