Flybe add capacity during Lufthansa strike
29.07.08
Regional budget airline Flybe is stepping up capacity on flights to Germany from the UK to help curb the impact of a strike by Lufthansa staff that started yesterday and has already seen over 100 flights cancelled.
The indefinite strike by Lufthansa Ground and Cabin Crew in a pay dispute began yesterday. Flybe will use larger aircraft on routes between Germany and UK airports including Birmingham, Southampton and Manchester during the strike.
Mike Rutter, Flybe's chief commercial officer, said: 'We are stepping in with extra capacity to make sure travellers don't get caught up in the Lufthansa strike. With our great value fares and user-friendly timetable between the UK and Germany, no-one need miss that important trip, whether it's business or leisure.’
