Getting there by road: birmingham airport is 8 miles (12 km) southeast of Birmingham city centre on the A45 Birmingham - Coventry main route. If you are travelling from further afield, there is direct access from the M1, M5, M6, and M40 motorways. It is off junction 6 of the M42.

Train: there are fast rail links to and from the rest of the country to the airports own Birmingham International Station. Then use the 'air rail link' - a monorail that runs between the station and the airport every 10 minutes. The journey takes about 2 minutes and is free. The air rail link runs 24 hours except for between 02:00 - 05:15 each morning.
Alternatively, you can take a train to Birmingham New Street station. There are 6 - 7 trains per hour during the day between Birmingham International Interchange and Birmingham New Street station. The journey time is 10 - 15 minutes. Note: trains are less frequent during the evening and at weekends, and there are no trains during the night.
Coach: The airport is linked to a number of cities including Coventry, Rugby, Northampton, Bedford, Manchester, Cambridge by National Express long-distance coach services. National Express also runs regular coaches from London Victoria to Birmingham International Airport (the journey takes just under 4 hours). There are inter-airport coaches too, provided by Fightlink.
Nearby Digbeth Coach station, in Birmingham city centre, is a hub within the National Express network and offers even more access to coach routes, with services to most parts of the UK. Local bus no. 900 Airport Link runs between the airport and Digbeth approximately every half hour (for more information call +44 (0) 8705 757 747).

Local bus: there is a bus stop outside the main terminal with frequent buses to and from the the city centre, Solihull, Chelmsley Wood and other surrounding towns throughout the week. Local bus no. 900 Airport Link passes Digbeth coach station, running every 20 minutes during the day and every 30 minutes during the evening and Sundays.
Taxi: Black cabs provide a 24 hour service from an official rank situated outside the Millennium Link. These taxies carry up to five people with luggage, and are built to take wheelchairs (tel: (0) 121 782 3744).
