Disabled facilities at birmingham airport
Birmingham airport meets the EU standard for mobility assistance to disabled persons. It has specially designated parking, embarkation and disembarkation assistance and induction loop systems for hearing assistance.
Parking: Disabled passengers can park for up to four hours in spaces in the short-term car park. For longer periods, disabled passengers can park on the ground floor of the multi-storey car park. The main terminal can then be accessed via a covered walkway.
To call for further assistance, disabled passengers can press an 'assist' button at the entrance / exit to the car park.

Getting around the airport: There are lifts throughout the airport and wheelchairs are available on request. There are disabled toilets throughout the airport, as well as in the multi-storey car park.
Hearing: Information for passengers with special needs is available and a MINICOM system is installed at the information desk (MINICOM tel: (0)121 782 0158).
There is also an induction loop system at the airport to amplify announcements for passengers wearing hearing aids.

Taxi: Black cabs provide a 24 hour service from an official rank outside each of the airport passenger terminals. These taxies carry up to five people with luggage, and are built to take wheelchairs (tel: (0)121 782 3744).
