There are 321 short term parking spaces and 9,960 long term parking spaces at the airport. In addition, there are a number of 'off airport' car parks (slightly further from the airport, but offering cheaper prices) plus you can book 'meet and greet' airport parking.

Short term airport parking: Short stay car parking is recommended for stays of up to five hours. It is conveniently close to the terminal. Payment can be made at the automatic machines within or next to the terminal building, before returning to your vehicle.
Short term parking tariff (as at Spring 2008, and subject to change):
Up to 30 Minutes £1.60
Up to 1 Hour £3.20
Up to 2 Hours £5.20
Up to 3 Hours £9.20
Up to 4 Hours £18.00
Up to 8 Hours £34.00
Up to 24 Hours £50.00 (and £50 a day or part thereof after this)
Multi-storey car park: this is the closest of birmingham's car parks to the terminals. It can be used for both ‘short stays’ and ‘midstays’ (stays of less than a week - say for a weekend break).
The tariff for first two hours is the same as of the nearby short term car park, but after that the rate goes up at a much slower rate.
Multi-storey parking tariff (as at Spring 2008, and subject to change):
Up to 30 Mintues £1.60
Up to 1 Hour £3.20
Up to 2 Hours £4.90
Up to 3 Hours £6.50
Up to 4 Hours £8.00
Up to 8 Hours £10.00
Up to 24 Hours £16.00
Over 1 day (per day & part there of) £16.00
Then varying rates - from £64 for a 8 day break and £135 for 15 days (if you pre-book at www.bhx.co.uk or compare the prices of all birmingham airport car parks, including on and off airport parking, at this birmingham airport parking page)
Long term car park: the on airport long term car park is further away from the two terminals than the short term and multi storey car parks. Depending on where you park, you may need a bus to reach the terminal. The shuttle buses run every ten minutes with a journey time of less than five minutes.
The rates are comparatively low, but they do go up during the summer months. During the summer you need to pre-book, as the car park is often sold out (go to www.bhx.co.uk or compare the prices of all birmingham airport car parks, including on and off airport parking, at this birmingham airport parking page).
Off airport parking: for stays of a weekend or longer (and certainly for a week or two week holiday) it is always cheaper to book 'off airport' parking. The only slight downside is that transfer time to and from the airport is slightly longer (15 minutes, rather than 5 - 10 minutes for on airport parking), but for a saving of up to 40%, and sometimes more, we think it's worth it.
The two off airport car parks are Airparks and APH (click on the links to find out more). To compare the prices of 5 airport parking suppliers (Holidayextras, APH, BCP, FHR and essential travel) try this birmingham airport parking page. You enter your dates once, and compare the cost of parking across all 5 suppliers, to make sure that you get the best price.
Meet and Greet: with meet and greet airport parking you drive to the airport terminal, where you are met by a driver. The driver takes your car and parks it for you. On your return you are met by a drive with car at the airport terminal, so that you can make a speedy exit and be on your way.
Often used by business travelers, it is also great for those travelling with the young, old or disabled. It is expensive for short trips, but for stays of a week or more, it isn't very much more expensive than on airport parking. Disabled parking: Disabled passengers can park for up to four hours in spaces in the on airport short-term car park. For longer periods, disabled passengers can park on the ground floor of the on airport multi-storey car park. The main terminal can then be accessed via a covered walkway. To call for further assistance, disabled passengers can press an 'assist' button at the entrance / exit to the car park.
If you would like to book off airport parking, both Airparks and APH offer assistance to disabled customers and their buses are designed to provide wheelchair access.
Motorbike parking: There is free motorbike parking at birmingham near the entrance to Multi-Storey Car Park 2, under the Air-Rail link track. There are rails for you to secure your bike to. You can bypass the car parks barriers.
